Fairlight Hall Today

Following a change of ownership at Fairlight Hall in 2002, the grade II-listed manor house has undergone significant modernisation and renovation. Environmental improvements to the house and grounds include the extensive use of sheep’s wool roof insulation, geothermal heating, garden-wide rainwater collection systems, and full Soil Association organic certification for the livestock, park and vegetable gardens.

It is still very much a family home which is shared where possible for the enjoyment of neighbours and local community organisations. Although the house itself is not open for public viewing, the pleasure gardens and grounds have been enjoyed on many occasions during the past decade as the host venue for charitable events and garden openings.

In recent years the house has become a focus for the increasingly prestigious Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition held annually in early March at the White Rock Theatre Hastings.  Fairlight Hall’s own 80-seat recital room hosts year-round piano master classes and recitals for competition winners.
